Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs/Chief Academic Officer
The Vice Chancellor for Academic Affairs is a senior administrative officer of the University, reporting directly to the Chancellor and serving as a principal advisor on policy development and strategic planning, as well as relevant academic operational direction and management in support of the University’s mission. As the senior administrator of the University’s academic programming, s/he is also the Chief Academic Officer (CAO) with primary responsibility for developing and implementing sound academic plans, policies and processes, ensuring academic freedom and shared governance and managing academic leadership and support staff to meet the University’s goals for academic excellence. The CAO is also responsible for monitoring academic and educational activities to ensure University compliance with state and accreditation agencies’ academic standards, regulations and policies.
