Undergraduate Certificate ProgramsThe Certificate in Finance program is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin a career that demands financial and accounting skills. The certificate is comprised of courses at the undergraduate level that will give students foundations in the concepts, theories, and practices in finance and accounting to prepare in today’s evolving and highly competitive business environment. A total of nine courses build strong analytical skills in core subject areas and develop analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Students who join the program should expect to acquire the core knowledge and skills needed to understand and assist in the implementation of financial data analysis and reporting.
Program Learning Outcomes
Upon completion of the program, graduates will be able to:
- Explain how accounting and financial information assists in making business decisions. (PLO-1)
- Conduct basic financial analysis, such as ratio and trend analysis. (PLO-2)
- Assist in the preparation of financial statements and reports. (PLO-3)
Program Requirements
To receive the Certificate in Finance from Southern States University, students must successfully complete the nine (9) required core courses for a total of 40.5 credit hours, which is equivalent to 405 contact hours. Students must complete the requirements within a five (5) quarter period.
