Higher Learning Commission (HLC)

We are happy to announce that the Higher Learning Commission (HLC) accrediting agency has accepted Southern States University for their eligibility stage. The next step is to submit the self-study and set an accreditation review visit. For more than a year, SSU has been working with the HLC agency in reaching this application stage. SSU administration and staff have also been preparing by learning and adopting policies and procedures that reflect the HLC standards. The Higher Learning Commission(HLC) is an institutional accreditor in the United States. The headquarters of the organization is in Chicago, Illinois. The United States Department of Education and the Council for Higher Education Accreditation recognize the commission as an institutional accreditor.
