Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA)
The Bachelor of Business Administration is a four-year degree program in which students will be prepared with an academic background, in addition to practical experiences necessary to survive in todayâs challenging business environment. The general education and lower division courses provide a strong academic foundation that includes humanities, arts, science and business courses, so that the student has the propensity to succeed in the more challenging and focused upper division courses. SSUâs upper division courses are designed with the business needs of today and tomorrow in mind, and provide students first with an introduction, and then with more in-depth business principles and practices, along with the skill set required to succeed in todayâs business world. The program requires successful completion of 180 quarter units.
Master of Business Administration (MBA)
Southern States Universityâs Master of Business Administration is a two-year program designed to help prepare students for dealing with a world of business and industry that is constantly changing and evolving. With its emphasis on providing a solid academic and theoretical business foundation combined with modern management skills, the program is structured to ensure its students acquire an in-depth understanding of the structure of the global economy, as well as the practical business decision-making skills required to cope with the ever-increasing complexity of business activities in this global economy. In addition to its educational focus on globalization and international business knowledge and skills, SSU is uniquely positioned to offer an MBA program that brings together aspirants from countries all around the world to study in a collaborative spirit. In consideration of studentsâ tight schedules and responsibilities, SSUâs MBA courses are offered on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings and afternoons. In addition, the MBA program can be offered up to 100% online.
Master of Science in Information Technology (MSIT)
Southern States Universityâs Master of Science in Information Technology is a two-year program that prepares students in the field of information technology. With its emphasis on providing a solid academic and theoretical foundation combined with modern IT skills, the program is structured to ensure its students acquire an in-depth understanding of the IT field, as well as the technical skills required to cope with the ever-increasing complexity of IT issues in the modern world. In consideration of studentsâ tight schedules and responsibilities, SSUâs IT courses are offered on weekday evenings and Saturday mornings and afternoons.
Undergraduate Certificate Programs
Certificate in Marketing
The Certificate in Marketing program is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin a career in a marketing related field. The certificate addresses marketing and communication issues in todayâs evolving and highly competitive business environment. A total of nine courses at the undergraduate level build strong foundation skills in core subject areas and develop analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Elective courses guide students into functional areas of marketing, or allow a broader focus, affording students the ability to develop skills necessary to take on the many challenges present in this constantly evolving field. Students who join the program should expect to acquire the core knowledge and skills needed to understand and assist in the implementation of marketing plans and marketing tactics.
Graduate Certificate Programs
Certificate in Business Administration
Southern States Universityâs Certificate in Business Administration is a one-year program designed to help prepare students for dealing with a world of business and industry that is constantly changing and evolving. With its emphasis on providing a solid academic and theoretical business foundation combined with modern management skills, the program is structured to ensure its students acquire an in-depth understanding of the structure of the global economy, as well as the practical business decision-making skills required to cope with the ever-increasing complexity of business activities in this global economy. A total of seven courses build strong foundation skills in core subject areas and develop analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Elective courses guide students into several functional areas of management affording students the ability to develop skills necessary to take on the many challenges present in this constantly evolving field.
Certificate in Information Technology
The Certificate in Information Technology program is designed to give participants the knowledge, skills, and abilities to begin a career in an IT-related field. The certificate addresses the role of IT in organizations and the various technologies comprising the broader area of information technology, and their interworking. A total of seven courses at the graduate level build strong foundation skills in core subject areas and develop analytical, critical, and creative thinking. Elective courses guide students into functional IT subjects, or allow a broader focus, affording students the ability to develop skills necessary to take on the many challenges present in this constantly evolving field. Â Students who join the program should expect to acquire the core knowledge and skills needed to understand and assist in the development and management of IT systems.
Benefits
Southern States University is not currently participating in the VA programs. Veterans interested in applying to any of our programs are welcome; however, the university will not be able to process any VA educational benefits.
Transfer Credits
Please be advised that final approval for transfer credits will be determined on a case-by-case basis depending on individual student’s prior military/learning credits and applicability to desired programs.

VETERANS RESOURCE CENTER
The SSU Veterans Resource Center (VRC) is committed to ensuring that military connected individuals successfully make the transition from their past military environment to their current student life, and are assisted in their progress toward completing their academic goals.
The VRC also provides students access to a relaxing safe space, interaction with like-minded military connected students, peer mentoring, group study sessions, tutoring, information and referrals, workshops, and computers. The VA Coordinator provides in-center access to success coaching, veteran benefits, academic enrichment programs, disability accommodations, and similar services. Our goal here at SSU is to give each military connected student the support and advocacy needed to achieve their educational and professional goals.
